Hands Tell Stories is a two-day celebration of ASL storytelling and Visual Vernacular for anyone interested in the power of visual language.
Guided by Deaf storytellers and experienced Deaf instructors, participants will explore handshapes, Visual Vernacular, narrative techniques, expressive signing, and the art of bringing stories to life. Through hands-on workshops, demonstrations, practice, and performance, you'll have opportunities to build your skills, develop your own stories, and experience the creativity and richness of ASL storytelling.
All are welcome, ages 16 and up. Whether you are Deaf or hearing, a parent, educator, interpreter, professional, ASL student, or simply interested in visual storytelling, this weekend offers something for you.
DCMP is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 0.975 CEUs at the “little/none” Content Knowledge Level.
