Fingerspelling Strategies: From Slow to Smooth

Fingerspelling plays an important role in American Sign Language and is frequently used for names, places, and concepts that may not have a commonly used sign. However, many ASL learners struggle with recognizing and producing fingerspelled words at a natural pace. This live online class will introduce practical strategies for improving both fingerspelling comprehension and production. Participants will learn visual recognition techniques, common patterns in fingerspelled words, and strategies that help move learners from slow, letter-by-letter decoding to smoother, more confident communication.
